Our school teaches the Christian faith and adheres to the doctrine of the LCMS: "With the universal Christian Church, the Lutheran Church - Missouri Synod teaches and responds to the love of the Triune God: the Father, creator of all that exists; Jesus Christ, the Son, who became human to suffer and die for the sins of all human beings and to rise again in the ultimate victory over death and Satan; and the Holy Spirit, who creates faith through God's Word and Sacrament. The three persons of the Trinity are coequal, coeternal, one God." (LCMS Statement of Faith)

As a Lutheran high school, the foundation of education and daily life revolves around a deep, personal faith in Jesus Christ. Students are encouraged to grow in their understanding of God's Word, and they are taught to live out their faith through worship, prayer, and service to others. The Christian faith informs all aspects of our school's academic, social, and extracurricular activities. We affirm that all people are created in the image of God. We uphold the Biblical truth that God created humanity as male and female and established marriage as a covenant between a man and a woman.

CWLHS students are encouraged to develop a love of learning that continues beyond graduation. Students are pushed to strive for their best in everything they do, recognizing that God has given them unique talents and abilities to be used for His glory. As such, CWLHS seeks to instill the skills to think critically, explore new ideas, and engage in the world in a way that reflects a Christian worldview.
